Differences in Gender and Trends of Transfusion Transmissible Infections Among Blood Donors at a Tertiary Hospital in Bangladesh

Background: Public awareness-creating activities have been taking place to promote blood donation but the units still do not match yearly demands for blood. Prevalence of transfusion transmissible infection also happens be a problem. Objective: To study difference ratio in between male and female donors as well trend diseases. Materials Methods: The present has 56,557 over fourteen long years (2008 – 2021) by Department Transfusion Medicine at Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College & Hospital (KYAMCH). Result: donor medical assessment was passed people 14 years; number females were 4,661 compare 51,896 males. Regarding results TTI screening, it is noted that only 688 positive cases found among implying about 1.2% potential population being rejected.
